a little and a lot...

God's been teaching me things. Lots of things. Things that are hard to capture and put into words, but if you saw me in person you'd know He was teaching me something and I was learning. He told me today while I was getting ready to wash dishes, 'why do you take off your cheap rings when you wash dishes, those which you KNOW will tarnish in the water, but leave your precious, more valuable ring on?' Is it like throwing pearls to swine? It got me thinking what this 'parable' was that He was speaking about. Do I value those 'cheap inexpensive' things that will tarnish and fade? Do I take extra precaution to make sure those things don't get ruined and broken, when the real treasures I just take for granted, and not really invest in keeping them valuable?! It was a hard lesson to hear, and even harder to walk out. I love my God. I'm thankful He doesn't tire of my same ol' same ol' stumbling blocks. I'm amazed that He cares enough for me to teach me these valuable lessons and to keep me under His wing.

I read something somewhere that said... What if you woke up today and all you had were the things that you were thankful for yesterday. Got me thinking a whole lot and well, I guess I need to really take a deep look at all I have and count my blessings.

He's so good you guys. So good, and He's teaching me lots. I am so thankful to have a father like him. 'He who began a good work in you, will be FAITHFUL to complete it.' Amen and Amen
